About
"Leader Price Le Club" is the established loyalty program for the French discount retailer, allowing customers to access special benefits. To evolve this program, Leader Price sought to introduce a new layer of gamification and Web3 engagement1. In collaboration with The Sandbox and Arianee, they created a collection of NFTs to provide their most loyal customers with tangible, and now tradable, rewards.
As part of a mission for Arianee, my primary role was to develop the technical solution that would make these loyalty NFTs tradable. The goal was to create an exchange platform where customers could swap their NFTs with each other, adding a dynamic, gamified layer to the loyalty experience.
The challenge was to design a secure and gas-efficient NFT exchange for a non-Web3 native audience, empowering them to trade loyalty assets as easily as they would use a coupon.
Work
- [x] Developed the Solidity smart contracts for the NFT marketplace. The architecture was specifically designed around atomic swaps to ensure secure, trustless exchanges, a key requirement from the client.
- [x] Built the off-chain backend in Node.js to manage the order book, matching trade offers from users before submitting the final transactions for on-chain settlement.
- [x] Helped integrate a white-label wallet solution2 providing a seamless and non-custodial trading experience for all users.
Results
- Delivered the core smart contract and backend infrastructure for a first-of-its-kind NFT-based loyalty program for a leading French discount retailer.
- Enabled a gamified customer experience where loyalty assets became tradable, laying the foundation for a new token-based CRM strategy for Leader Price.
- The project's innovative approach to customer loyalty was recognized and featured by the major French business publication BFM Business.
