About
Arianee1 is the leading protocol for creating tokenized digital product passports (DPPs), used by over 50 major brands like Breitling, Lacoste, and Yves Saint Laurent. The protocol empowers brands to create digital twins of their products as NFTs, enabling new circular business models and fostering a direct, privacy-preserving relationship with product owners.
The Arianee Protocol V22 was a major architectural evolution designed to prepare the protocol for its next phase of growth. The mission was not only to migrate the existing smart contracts to a modern Foundry-based environment but also to introduce new capabilities and business features. This foundational work was an essential prerequisite for a future protocol extension called Full Privacy3 and was critical for ensuring the protocol's long-term security, maintainability, and adaptability for a multi-EVM future.
The task was to re-architect the very foundation of a protocol used by dozens of global brands, introducing upgradability without compromising the integrity of millions of existing digital passports.
Work
- [x] Migrated the entire suite of existing smart contracts from a legacy environment to a modern, high-performance Foundry-based repository4.
- [x] Re-architected all core contracts to be upgradable, implementing the Transparent Proxy Pattern with ERC-7201 for namespaced storage to prevent collisions.
- [x] Implemented and delivered several new core business features enabled by the protocol's new modular architecture.
- [x] Dramatically increased the protocol's resilience by writing over 200+ new comprehensive tests, covering the entire contract suite.
- [x] Established a robust, script-based deployment and verification process, streamlining the release cycle for the protocol's multi-EVM deployments.
Results
- Delivered a completely modernized, upgradable, and future-proof smart contract architecture for the Arianee Protocol.
- Provided a more resilient and adaptable foundation for the 50+ brands and partners building on the Arianee ecosystem.
- Ensured the long-term security and stability of the protocol with a comprehensive test suite of over 200+ new tests.
- Streamlined the development and deployment lifecycle by adopting the Foundry framework and implementing standardized scripting.
