About

During the initial surge of interest in Bitcoin Ordinals in early 2023, Coord.Market was conceived as a fully trustless marketplace for creators and collectors. The project's core principle was to build an end-to-end platform for minting, listing, and trading Ordinals in a completely non-custodial manner.

The mission was to create a trading experience that abstracted away the complexity of Bitcoin on-chain swaps, empowering users to trade peer-to-peer with confidence.

The challenge was to design a fully non-custodial trading experience, using the Ordinals Protocol and PSBTs to create truly trustless sats atomic swap on Bitcoin.

Work

  • [x] Architected and developed the full-stack platform, including a Next.js frontend and a Node.js backend API for indexing Ordinals and managing marketplace data.
  • [x] Integrated Magic Eden's msigner, an open-source PSBT signing library, to enable secure and trustless atomic swaps of Ordinals.
  • [x] Leveraged the 2-Dummy UTXO algorithm within msigner to protect the integrity of the Ordinal inscription during a swap.
  • [x] Developed a metadata builder toolset to empower creators to prepare their collections for listing.

Results

  • Delivered a complete, end-to-end platform for the non-custodial trading of Bitcoin Ordinals.
  • Successfully integrated a cutting-edge signing library (msigner) to provide users with a secure and trust-minimized atomic swap experience.
  • Empowered creators with a dedicated metadata builder, streamlining the process of launching new Ordinal collections.

This project involved building a sophisticated, non-custodial trading platform by integrating a cutting-edge signing library to enable truly trustless atomic swaps on Bitcoin.
